How to Find Email Addresses From LinkedIn Profiles: 4 Methods

linkedin

LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator are the most useful prospecting tools available to sellers today. As a social platform, your ideal customers are posting information about their companies and jobs, sharing content, and connecting with others on a daily basis.

Sales Navigator supercharges your outbound sales strategy with access to better data and more InMails. However, LinkedIn doesn’t make it easy to move from social selling mode to cold email mode.

Instead of relying solely on InMail messages and connection requests, try bringing your prospect’s email addresses into your own systems and improve your outreach. Here are four ways to find a prospect’s email address on LinkedIn and connect with them.

How to Find an Email Address on LinkedIn

Option 1: Check their profile (sometimes it’s public)

While logged into your LinkedIn account, visit the linkedin page of the person you’re looking to connect with. There’s a lot of information on this page but if you look right under their photo, you’ll see a link for Contact Information. Clicking the link to view a pop up that shows you information like their public LinkedIn URL, personal websites, and sometimes email address or phone number.

Lots of people don’t have their personal contact details publicly available, but if they do, it’ll show up here. Of course, you can always reach out to them through Inmail. Just remember to follow the same structure you would in an email and ask them to share their email with you.

Option 2: Best guess + Google to verify

If their email address is not listed on their LinkedIn profile, you’ll have to make your best guess and then head over to Google to verify. Try to find the email address of anyone else who works at the same company. Visit other employees’ LinkedIn pages or try searching for “email @[companydomain].com” to see if you get any hits. Corporate email addresses usually follow the same format for most employees.

The most common email formats include:

firstname.lastname@companydomain.com

firstinitial.lastname@companydomain.com

firstname@companydomain.com

firstname.lastinitial@companydomain.com

Senior leaders at large companies often have a different email format than other employees to reduce the amount of unsolicited email they receive. You might have a harder time verifying their email address on Google.

For most prospects, try googling the email address you think is most likely. This can bring up their contact information on different sites for events, articles, and sales material. Even if you’re able to find an email address on Google, that doesn’t mean it will be delivered to their inbox. It may still bounce.

Option 3: Best guess + email verification tool

Another way to verify an email address is to check with an email verification tool. Wiza offers email verification for free. All you need to do is input an email address in the search field and we’ll check if it’s valid (without sending an email).

Using an email verification tool helps you know if your email will bounce or not. If we can’t get a response, Wiza will identify an email as risky, usually because it has a domain known as a catch-all domain. We generally don’t recommend sending your email to these addresses.

Option 4: Wiza Chrome Extension for LinkedIn Sales Navigator

Searching LinkedIn for every email address one by one isn’t the most practical or efficient way to build your lead list. LinkedIn also doesn’t make it easy to export search results. To fill this gap, Wiza created a LinkedIn Sales Navigator Chrome Extension to easily export thousands of emails and sync them directly to your CRM.

Here’s how we scrape your LinkedIn network for email addresses in three steps:

Step 1

Enter your LinkedIn search and pull up the leads that you want to extract. If you’re searching for Outbound Sales Directors, you’re sure to see hundreds of results and manually going through this list to find their email addresses would take you hours, if not longer. When sales reps are trying to talk to hundreds of people a week, this is definitely not scalable.

Step 2

Sign up for a free Wiza account and download the chrome extension. You’ll see a blue button appear on every LinkedIn profile page that says “get email.” In your search results list, you’ll see another blue button that says “export emails with Wiza.”

When you click either button, you’re taken to the Wiza Dashboard, giving you the option to pull email addresses either from an individual LinkedIn profile or from your LinkedIn search. Wiza will then scrape the contact details for every individual contact and consolidate them into a spreadsheet. Next, Wiza turns to our data sources to search for the contact’s email addresses for you.

When we find the correct email address, we’ll verify if that inbox is able to receive mail or if your email will bounce. If the email is deliverable, we label it as “valid email.” If we can’t verify the deliverability, we’ll mark it as a “risky email.” Finally, if we confirm that the email address is invalid, we’ll let you know – don’t worry, we won’t charge for risky or invalid emails.

Step 3:

Now that you’ve compiled your LinkedIn lead list and verified email deliverability, your results can be downloaded from LinkedIn Sales Navigator and exported into a .CSV data file which can be imported into any CRM or sales prospecting tools.
