Are you looking to export LinkedIn contacts? What about 2nd degree connections or leads?
LinkedIn is a rich social media platform for professionals on all rungs of the ladder. Industry leaders use it to connect with their followers, and up-and-coming marketers and sales reps use it to build their network and find opportunities.
Hereâs the good news: you can export contacts from LinkedIn. To export LinkedIn contacts, you have two options:
- Export connections using your personal LinkedIn data archive.
- Export 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree connections (with email addresses) using LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
Note: When we say âexport LinkedIn contactsâ, weâre referring to what LinkedIn calls connections. This includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree connections.
Export LinkedIn Contacts Using Your Data Archive
First up: how to export contacts from LinkedIn using your own profile settings.
Step 1: Go to âSettings & Privacyâ
Click on âmeâ to see a dropdown menu for your profile and account settings. On this menu, click on âSettings & Privacyâ under âAccount.’

Step 2: Find the data archive request
Youâll have to scroll down a bit, but look for two headings under your account settings:
- How LinkedIn uses your data, then
- Getting a copy of your data
Click on that section to see all your export options.

Step 3: Select âConnectionsâ to request a copy of your data
Click âRequest archiveâ to start the download process.
Step 4: Open your LinkedIn contact list
Youâll have to wait ~10 minutes for the Connections list to be ready. You can either leave the page open until it says âdownload readyâ, or check your email for a link.
Once itâs ready, your LinkedIn connections list will first download as a ZIP file, then open as a .csv.
The data archive you receive will include columns for:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Company
- Position
- Date of Connection

How to Export Contacts From LinkedIn With Emails

Step 1: Head to LinkedIn Sales Navigatorâs search page
LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a premium offering from the social network. You can search for leads and accounts â but you can also use the platform for some additional information on your LinkedIn connections.
Step 2: Select 1st degree connections
To export your contacts (people you are actually connected with), select 1st degree connections. To expand your reach you can also select 2nd and 3rd degree connections.
Step 3: Click âExport emails with Wizaâ
After you install the Wiza extension, youâll see a button in the upper right of the search page. Once you click, Wiza will automatically launch.
Step 4: Name your list and click âexportâ
On the Wiza screen, you can name your list. It will take ~5 minutes per 100 contacts to export contacts from LinkedIn.
Step 5: Download your list
Once the export is complete, you can download the .csv with your LinkedIn contacts. The file contains full name, first/last name, company, location, LinkedIn URL and associated domain.
